![]() ![]() ![]() Although probably not as much as being torn in half by zombies. The most common killers in the world of State of Decay are overconfidence and exhaustion.Įvery physical action - moving at more than a jog, swinging a bat at a zombie's head or rolling out of the path of a charging mutant - drains stamina, and an exhausted character will struggle to fight off more than one zombie, risking being cut off from their vehicle, dragged to the ground and torn in half.Īn unwary warmbody can experience the fate of the bikers in Dawn of the Dead - from being amused by the clumsy, unthinking zombies to being amuse-bouches for the same zombies - startlingly quickly, And, with RPG-lite mechanisms offering improved health and stamina levels, boosted movement and combat abilities and weapon-specific special attacks, losing a favorite character can really hurt. Although the zombies are easy enough to kill individually, hordes, accompanied by mutant zombies with unusual strength or speed, or the ability to release paralyzing screams or noxious gas, can get dangerous. In classic style, the survivors have to find shelter, fortify a base and scavenge for supplies. The player controls a group of survivors, moving control from one to the other as they grow tired or wounded. Now, when they die, they get up and kill. If a game like Techland's upcoming Dying Light is intended to be a "AAA" zombie experience - something akin to World War Z - State of Decay is probably the closest approximation to the classic George Romero splatterpunk experience, iffy production values and all. No release date for State of Decay 3 has been revealed, as of this writing, but it will be coming to Xbox Series X and Windows whenever it does. These should be pretty serious issues - this kind of glitching in a Call of Duty game would occasion howls of outrage, and that outrage would not be seen as unjust. Plus, the Resident Evil games, including this week’s Resident Evil Village, are available on PS5 and Xbox Series X so everyone gets a fun zombie shooter soon, which no one should complain about. That’s just the reality of things right now since Microsoft has to focus on making a killer games library for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Games Pass, so unless Microsoft shifts to being a publisher, you won’t be seeing State of Decay 3 on PS4 or PS5 anytime soon.Īdmittedly, it’s not like PlayStation players are lacking in zombie games right now, with The Last of Us, The Last of Us Part II, and Days Gone exclusive to the PS4 and PS5. Unfortunately, fans that want to see State of Decay 3 on PS4, PS5, or a non-Microsoft system will be disappointed since the game is currently slated as an Xbox exclusive, with no plans for porting the game anywhere else aside from PC. Is State of Decay 3 Coming to PS5 and PS4? Granted, we would have liked some actual gameplay but we respect them holding off until things look better and it still got a lot of fans excited, to the point that a lot of Sony fanboys want to see State of Decay 3 on PS4 or PS5. State of Decay 3 was announced during last year’s Xbox Series X Games Showcase and though we only got a pretty CGI trailer, fans were excited to see another entry in this zombie open-world series. ![]()
